Microfiber bed sheets have gained incredible amounts of popularity in the past decade or so. Compared to the cotton, it has the added benefit of being artificially manufactured. It ensures that regardless of the weather, soil or water supplies, it can be manufactured in a factory to satisfy local and international demands. But yet, the public remains rather uninformed on the benefits and drawbacks of the microfiber as a material for making bed sheets.
There are multiple types of microfiber materials as well but most of the time the public does not know the difference between the two and usually buy one when they need the other. This makes them regret their purchase of printed bedding sets online and they are back at the vendor sooner than they had hoped. It is important to educate the public so they can make more informed decisions. Rather than focus on our bottom line, we try to benefit the buyers and earn repeat business.
Therefore, in this blog, we will focus on the different types of microfiber material available in the market. There are two types of microfiber materials available in the market that are described below. In case you have any questions or concerns, contact us and we will help you out.
To make a split weave microfiber, producers make the material with fibers that are split. This is what that gives split weave its’ name. Having a split fiber means that the produced material is able to soak in more moisture, which helps clean the sheets in an economic and timely fashion. It is usually used for sportswear to allow for better sweating, heat and air exchange.
Unlike the split weave, the fibers that are used to produce flat-weave microfiber are not split. One way to find out whether a particular microfiber sheet is made of flat or split weave, just run your hand over the sheet and if fibers stick to your palm, it is a split weave. If the sheet remains intact, it is likely that it is a flat weave.
